Main Ingradients
1)Maida (All purpose Flour) 2 1/2 Cups (250 Grams)
2) Hot Milk 1/2 Cup
3)Baking Powder 1/2 Tsp
4)Warm water 1/2 Cup (approx)
5)Salt 1/2 tsp Salt
6)Kalaunji 1 Tsp (Onion Seeds)
7)Cooking Soda 1 Tsp (Sodium Bicorbonate)
8)Edible Oil
7)Khus -Khus )gasa gasalu in Telugu) (poopy Seeds) 1 Tsp (Optional)
Method
1.Heat Milk and put in large pan ( Steel basin )
2.Add Baking Powder to Hot Milk.Mix well and Keep it Like this for 1 minute.
3.Mix Maida and Salt togeather.Add Maida to the Hot Milk.add Curd and cooking Soda(Sodium Bicorbonate)Mix well
4.Kneed to soft dough with enough warm water
5.Keep in Warm Place for 3-4 hours (cover it with plastic wrapper or cloth,after 10 minutes, add oil and knead the dough again.
6.Make 6-8 dough balls
7.Roll out each boll to an oblong shape,sprinkle some kalonji/khus khus(poppy seeds).
8.Press with rolling pin (belan-appadala karra).Pull one side of the Naan to give it a pointed end like shape of the Naan
9)Apply Some Water on the Back side of the Naan.Stick in a Hot Tandoor
Alternatively Stick the Naan to Microwavable plate.place the plate into pre heated Microwave oven, Switch of the Microwave after 5-8 minutes
Alternatively on Tawa or Griddle or Non Stick Pan
- on a hot tava or griddle, place the naan
- partly cook both the sides of the naan on the tava
- then place the naan with the help of tongs on fire
- and cook both the sides till they get browned and slightly charred.
Nan wil be be served with any moghalai side dish such as Palak Panner,Butter Panner Masala etc
Note
if you need Butter Naan,Please include 50 grams of butter in the dough and after taking out the Naan from microwave,apply melted Butter on Each Naan with Brush
